NOTICE REGARDING SUBMISSION, NO ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP, AND REQUIREMENT FOR FORMAL ENGAGEMENT
Please read carefully. Any submission of information, documents, inquiries, or other materials to Straus Meyers, LLP (including to any attorney, staff member, or representative of the firm), whether by email, telephone, facsimile, mail, website form, or in person, does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship or a confidential relationship between you and the firm.
No Conflict Check or Screening Implied Submission of materials may be used only for purposes of conflict checking or initial assessment. The firm may retain conflict-check information as necessary to determine whether representation is possible, but retention of such information does not imply or create any attorney-client relationship.
No Work or Advice Will Be Performed Absent Formal Engagement Straus Meyers, LLP will not perform legal services, provide legal advice, commence work on your matter, or take any action on your behalf until:
the firm has expressly agreed to represent you; and
a written engagement agreement (or other mutually executed written authorization) has been signed by an authorized firm representative and by you (or your authorized representative).
Limitations on Confidentiality Unless and until a formal attorney-client relationship is established, do not send or disclose information you consider confidential, privileged, or sensitive. While the firm will treat submitted information as appropriate for conflict checks and initial review, confidentiality and privilege are not established absent a formal engagement. If you believe privileged or confidential communications are necessary prior to engagement, notify the firm in writing and await written confirmation of representation before disclosing such information.
No Reliance You should not rely on any communication from the firm as legal advice or as creating any duties or obligations on the part of the firm unless you have received a written engagement agreement signed by an authorized Straus Meyers, LLP representative. Any informal estimates of fees, timelines, or outcomes are preliminary and nonbinding until confirmed in a signed engagement agreement.
Reservation of Rights Straus Meyers, LLP expressly reserves all rights, including the right to decline representation for any reason, including conflicts of interest discovered during conflict-checking, or for any matter inconsistent with the firm’s policies or ethical obligations.
Questions or Submission Procedures If you have submitted materials and wish to determine whether a formal engagement is appropriate or how to initiate an engagement, please contact the firm and request information on our engagement process. Do not send further confidential information until you have received and signed a written engagement agreement.
